Trinity Preschool for Friday, November 2, 2012

Willow Room- MWF class

We had Firefighter Jim visit our class today to talk about fire safety. He put on all of his gear and showed us how he sounds when he has his helmet on too.
We read "Flashing fire engines" by Tony Mitton 

We asked the children "Have you ever visited a fire station?"
We used corks and black paint to put spots on a Dalamation fire dog shape at the easel. 
We stamped the numbers 911 on a fire hat.

We did "Fire fighter song", "Fire truck song", and "Put your finger on" for music time.

Maple Room- Morning class:

We read "I know an old lady who swallowed a pie" by Alison Jackson.

We made a print by painting on bubble wrap and pressed paper on top to make a print. 

We had our vests for our Thanksgiving feast at the easel to decorate.

We did "The November song", " The Month's song", "Bean Bag Boogie", "Put that bean bag", "Little Fish", "Turkey in the straw", "Tap your toes" for music today.

We had fire fighter Jim come to talk to our class today.
We read "No dragons for tea"- Fire safety for kids by Jean Pendziwol 

We did Letter E activities.  

Maple Room- Afternoon class: 

We did the nursery rhyme "Hickory Dickory dock" and are talking about the shape rectangle today.  

We used number stampers on a rectangle shape to make a clock
We had spools on handles at the easel.

We did "The November song, Month's song, 5 little ducks, hickory dickory dock song, and 5 little pumpkins sitting on a gate.

We read "The completed hickory dickory dock" by Jim Aylesworth

Oak Room: Pre-K class

We read "Sam and the firefly" by P.D. Eastman

We thought of words that start with the letter H.

We used letter stampers to male words on paper to illustrate our story.

We did "Find the number cards, pegboard designs, and letter bead stringing for some special activities.

We did The opposites game (song), and "This old man" a rhyming song for music time.
We did an experiment today, "What cleans pennies better?" vinegar or soapy water.  We used Q-tips to find out.

Stay & Play:

We read "Cindy Moo" by Lori Mortensen

We used sponge shape stampers.

We did "I like my hat" and used bean bags as our hats.  We did the Train song, we balanced beanbags on different body parts as we moved around the room.
We did building with large blocks today too.
